Multiple streets in Halifax’s north end were blocked off Monday night as fire crews tended to a reported fire outside an apartment building on North Street.
The call initially came in at around 9:30PM, when around half a dozen units from Halifax Fire responded immediately.
Parts of North Street and multiple intersections nearby were closed as well, as HRP asked the public to avoid the area.
According to Halifax Fire, the fire initially started outside, but then made its way into the interior of the building. However, crews were able to contain the blaze before any major issues appeared.
While no injuries were reported from the fire, an arrest was made in Dartmouth according to Halifax Regional Police. Authorities are considering this fire a deliberate act.
