Nova Scotia RCMP have charged 20-year old Marshall Ellis with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police following a high-speed pursuit Wednesday.
Police say the Chevrolet Camaro was initially spotted doing 200 km/h on Highway 102 in Waverley. Though an RCMP officer did attempt to make a traffic stop, the suspect fled. Another officer later reported the vehicle in Bedford, where it was clocked at 192 km/h near Rocky Lake Junior High School.
Police ended up having to wait for the driver to stop for gas before they were able to catch up with the vehicle. They would eventually catch up with the vehicle in the parking lot of the gas station, 15 minutes after the first call came in.
Ellis was also ticketed for an expired registration on the Camaro, and operating a motor vehicle without a liability policy. He is due to appear in provincial court Thursday.
