It was what seemed to be an average February day on Friday, but that was far from true for students of Halifax West High School.
Just after noon Atlantic time, the Halifax Regional School Board released a Tweet, stating that the school had been placed under a lockdown, and that all students and staff were safe. The Halifax Regional Police later also posted, commenting that they were on scene at the school for what they called an “ongoing investigation”.
It was later revealed through the HRP that there was a potential gun threat on Friday, however no evidence was found to support the report. Police continue to investigate the situation.
